Weather, Climate and WA Agriculture

  • Through three 20-min invited talks and follow-up discussion, this session will educate participants on aspects of (Topic 1) Is PNW/WA weather changing — relevant extremes & future climate forecast trends, (Topic 2) WSU Ag Weather Network — how the mesonet monitors & shares (Ag) weather & hydrological data (& products) to stakeholders, and (Topic 3) a stakeholder use case on effectiveness of weather data tools to better manage conservation districts/farm operations.

On-Farm Trials, Evaluation, and Decision Tools for Cover Crop Management

  • The newly formed Western Cover Crops Council is promoting cover crop adoption in the western U.S. Current projects include  multiple on-farm trials to evaluate cover crops, and development of a suite of cover crop decision tools including a cover crop selection tool and nitrogen mineralization models.

5G Technology in Agriculture
