Join Us for a FSMA Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training

The Washington State Tree Fruit Association and Tilth Alliance will hold a Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training course on Friday, November 8 in Yakima, WA.

  • Date & Time: Friday, November 8, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Location: Yakima Convention Center, 10 N 8th St, Yakima, WA 98901
  • Cost: $25

This one-day class fulfills the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirement for Produce Growers outlined in § 112.22(c) that requires “At least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training at least equivalent to that received under standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the Food and Drug Administration.”

The course will be led by a trainer that has attended the PSA lead trainer training, and holds the Produce Safety Alliance Lead Trainer Certificate. This training will provide a foundation of Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and co-management information, FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirements, and details on how to develop a farm food safety plan.

After attending the entire course, participants will be eligible to receive a certificate from the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) that verifies they have completed the training course. To receive an AFDO certificate, a participant must be present for the entire training and submit the appropriate paperwork to their trainer at the end of the course.

This course is subsidized by support from the Local Food Safety Collaborative and the WSDA through the Produce Safety Program. The registration fee of $25 will cover the PSA Grower Training Manual, a certificate of course attendance issued by AFDO, lunch and refreshments. If you have any questions, please contact Erin Murphy at erinmurphy@tilthalliance.org or Jacqui Gordon Nunez at jacqui@wstfa.org.

Pre-registration is required, no on-site registration will be accepted. Full payment of the registration fee must be made at the time of registration. The registration fee is non-refundable.
