Help Build the Learning Farm at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands

The Garden Stewards will work closely with the learning garden coordinator and will be involved in the planning and implementation of work parties, workshops, and other educational garden activities at the McAuliffe Park Learning Garden. Focus will be on implementation of the Seattle Tilth Demonstration Garden Educational Goals through planning, record keeping, volunteer education and management, and community building.

This is a volunteer opportunity for community members, groups of middle and high school students, corporate service groups,  and service-learners to install features of the new farm with Tilth Alliance staff.

Learn More

The Learning Farm at Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands will provide a place for young people to develop nourishing connections with their community and the natural world by restoring habitat, growing and cooking good food, and celebrating abundance together!

Our school day, after-school and summer camp programs invite young people of diverse backgrounds to explore the farm and wetland ecosystem through hands-on and experiential learning activities. Students will discover the interdependence of healthy soil, healthy plants and healthy people by caring for the earth, investigating new flavors in the kitchen, creating art, and more—ultimately moving us all toward a more colorful and just food future!
