Volunteer at Tilth Alliance's May Edible Plant Sale!

More than ever, we need help from volunteers to make this year's sale a success. Sign up today and get online access to the Early Bird Sale for free!

May EPS VolunteerThank you for your interest in volunteering at Tilth Alliance's May Edible Plant Sale! The online sale ended on May 5, but we are still working and we still need help from volunteers, now through May 24.

All volunteer shifts will takes place at Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands in SE Seattle. The farm is located at 5513 S. Cloverdale St., Seattle, 98118.

Volunteers are currently most needed to pack plant orders and replenish stock, direct customers as they arrive and communicate order information, coordinate orders for pick-up, load plants, soil, and compost, and water plants. We will also need help with tear-down and clean-up when everything is finished.

To help you find a good fit, volunteer job descriptions are grouped below in the following categories:

  • Sale Operations (May 1-24): Pack orders, greet and direct customers, ready orders for pick-up when customers arrive, help load plants, soil, and compost, assist at the cashier booth as needed.
  • General Support (April 27-May 24): Water plants; help at the volunteer booth; act as a runner between the volunteer booth and other locations, or sign up as a floater to fill in the gaps!
  • Post-Sale (May ?): Take down any remaining tables, tents, and signs; help inventory and pack up any remaining plants; help tidy up the farm after the sale.

Not sure what you'd like to do? Sign up as a Floater (under "General Support") to be assigned a position when you arrive for your shift.

SALE OPERATIONS

Pack orders, greet and direct customers, ready orders for pick-up when customers arrive, help load plants, soil, and compost, assist at the cashier booth as needed.


GENERAL SUPPORT

Before and during the event, we'll need help watering all of those beautiful plants, signing in volunteers and maintaining the Volunteer Booth, acting as a "runner" between the volunteer booth and kitchen or office. If you're up for anything, sign up as a Floater -- we'll assign a job when you arrive and we'll be extra appreciative that you're helping us fill in the gaps.


POST-EVENT

Take down any remaining tables, tents, and signs; help inventory and pack up any remaining plants; help tidy up the farm after the sale. Dates TBD -- stay tuned!
