Visit the garden to learn organic gardening and sustainable landscape techniques. Techniques demonstrated in the garden include year-round organic vegetable gardening, fruit producing trees and shrubs, drought tolerant and disease-resistant ornamental plantings, permaculture design, rain water harvesting, a green roof on our greenhouse, yard waste and food waste composting, soil building techniques, Pacific Northwest native plants, food bearing perennials, and a rain garden.

Volunteer with us in the garden on Friday mornings!

We provide tools and instruction for any tasks that need to be done -- no prior experience necessary!

We work rain or shine, so please dress for the weather, including sun or rain protection. We recommend dressing comfortably in clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes. It's always a good idea to bring a water bottle.

Your health and safety is our top priority! All staff and volunteers must follow health and safety protocols. Please review and commit to these protocols before signing up to volunteer:

  • Staff and volunteers commit to being screened for COVID-19 symptoms, which include cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, or a loss of taste or smell. Anyone with these symptoms will be asked to stay home
  • Staff and volunteers commit to following current public health guidelines, which include gathering with no more than 5 people outside your household per week.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer frequently, including when you first arrive
  • Sign-in and sign-out on the volunteer sheet
  • Bring your own garden or work gloves, if you can
  • Wear a face mask at all times if working around others
  • Work in small groups (no more than 5 people)
  • Keep 6 feet apart from others at all times
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing
  • Tools and high-touch surfaces will be sanitized by staff after use
